HEY
This was a good week. Lots of crazy kind of weird complicated situational stuff happened but we had a great week down here in Valle de Azapa. As I said last week, Elder Quispe got his appendix out and him and Elder Patterson were told to stay home this whole week. They didn't come to district class, and we went there to do interchanges so that Elder Patterson and I could buy medicine and go to work a little bit. The same night of our interchange the power cut in Elder Quispe's house, and we all had to sleep in our house so that we could keep Elder Quispe heated and well. That was fun, and it was good to be able to help them out. Poor guys didn't get to work all week. Thursday was my birthday, and it was kind of funny because I knew that when I said that I would go on the mission, I surrendered all of my time and effort to the Lord, including my birthday. So Thursday we worked just as normal, and bought sushi at the end of the day to celebrate. It was a really good day. Besides that it was basically a normal week, we met a lot of really cool new people, which was definitely a plus. We were able to find new people to teach, and meet people that we've been trying to track down for the last couple weeks. It's been a really good week. I also got some presents from some people in my ward, including a pair of dope brown knit gloves from a sister in the ward. We finished off the week with a family night with my favorite Haitian family, and they made us rice and really good chicken and fried chicken a lo haitiano. I'm afraid that I've run out of time, but know that I love you all and love to be a missionary. I love the Lord and am so grateful for every opportunity that I have here on this earth to make the difference in somebody else's life. If I can help any of you with anything, let me know.
Have a great week.

*Disclaimer: I only inserted the pictures that were in focus. He sent a couple that were very fuzzy- those I just saved. If you really want to see them, just come on over and ask!

Donde esta Juan??
Hey-
we had a really good week. It's been hard to work as much as we would like to, because it takes us an entire half hour to walk from our house to almost anywhere where we would want to work, but we're still doing it!!! We have found some really cool people in the last few weeks, and things are looking really good for us in Valle de Azapa. The first crazy thing that happened was that we had interviews with our new Mission President!! He did a conference with us and another zone and we all got to have 3 minute interviews so that he could get to know us a little bit. His wife is Hermana Meservy and he has four kids, two girls that are older and live in the states and Jaden (13) and Micah (10). We got to hang out with the kids while we waited for our interview and that was a load of fun. They are from Linden Utah, and this is their first mission serving together. President Meservy served his mission in Argentina and is the only one who speaks Spanish in their family. what a fun learning process.
Elder Diegolo and I did a lot of busywork this week, lots of digging and searching, and we had a great week even though we didn't have as much obvious success as we would want to. The fact that we are working hard, being DILIGENT and OBEDIENT is enough to satisfy me. We had a lot of study time this week and we studied a lot of deep doctrine topics. I've never found so much new things in the scriptures in one week, and I learned so much. Elder Diegoli was also with a fever on Friday night, and that was not good. He got over that, but the companion of our district leader Elder Patterson, Elder Quispe, had appendicitis. They took out his appendix on Saturday and was in the hospital until Monday morning. He's back in his house, but they will be home all week, thank goodness that he's gonna be fine. Elder Diegoli spoke in church, I had to teach in the second hour, and we had a lot of really good lessons with some people who seem to be progressing very much. I'm thankful to have Elder Diegoli here. He has changed so much since he arrived and has put himself really obedient, and we have seen so many blessings only through that. I love you all and I know that we receive blessings in accordance with our ability to be obedient to the laws and commandments of God. Thank you for all the birthday wishes, and if there is anything I can do for you guys, just let me know.
Have a great week!!

Carniceria? Carne seria si fuera carne.
HEy all-
I hope you're all doing quite well and having a good week. This was a pretty good week for Elder Diegoli and I. We have found some new people and we are working with some other focuses. We started the week off with a bang on the fourth of july, and had a good american barbecue. We did hot dogs and made hamburgers, and had special ordered some gringo sodas, and we made all of it with original gringo only products. Even our latin missionaries enjoyed it. Then we had a fairly normal week, so we are going to be seeing some changes real soon. I'm excited to see how we can work with the new leadership to keep things moving around here. The bishop gave a goodby talk and the new bishop gave a "Hello, I'm the new Bishop" talk. They were both really good. I'm gonna miss the bishop.
In other news, my trainer Elder Norried got married this weekend! That is kind of wild but good for him. ALSO I found a door with the number 1738. (I don't get this part-Jarrett tells me it has something to do with music-like an inside joke?) We also got to go eat sushi with Nacho again for the first time in a while. I made a couple rolls and it was a really good use of our dinner time. I also had an interchange with Elder Patterson again here in Valle de Azapa, and we made some real tacos. What a joy. I hope you're all doing well and if there's something I can help any of you with just let me know. I love being a missionary. I've felt the spirit's help in everything we do and am glad to be back here in the mission. For the second week in a row I haven't planned out my email but I promise the next one will be better. I know the church is true and if you don't then talk to the missionaries.
Take care and yall just wait because next week's email is gonna be planned out.
