Elder Boss says goodbye

Welp everybody this week was a pretty good, regular one. My companion Elder Claro and I are doing very well, we have been finding more people and teaching a lot of families, this sector has seen a LOT of progress since we got here, big things are coming !!  And we also had interviews with President Meservy this week and we are pretty sure that my companion will be transferred this next week, so by the next time you hear from me I will probably be with a new companion in my last transfer.  One thing that I have been thinking about this week alot about the prophets here in the americas, they were all really hopeful for us.  I was reading a part in Enos where he says that IF his entire people would become destroyed because of wickedness, that the only thing he truly wanted was that the memory and records of his people could be brought back to his enemies (the Lamanites) to be able to help them see the truth.  In Enos's time the Lamanites would just not change whatsoever, and he still had love for them.  He still had love for us, and knew that some day we would come around !!  I am so glad to have the scriptures in my life, my soul really does delight in the scriptures, they have so much power and guidance for our lives BUT it is necessary that we give them the attention they deserve.  Have a great week you guys.

Any food

Well everybody this week was quite good- the only thing that really happened out of the ordinary is that we ate A L O T, the thing is that when you eat a lot your stomach expands i guess (that's how they explained it to me once) so that makes it easier to just want to eat all over again so we kept feeling hungry and ate a lot, pictures included.  We had lots of people come to church today, and we are always seeing more and more miracles.  We have a colombian family that is doing really well, hopefully they will all be at church this next week.  More than anything lately I have been thinking about how lucky I am to have been born in the gospel, a priveledge that sometimes we take for granted, so take a step and this week invite someone to learn about the church, ask them if they have questions.  Every member of the church has the responsability to share, to help people comprehend and come to love the restored Gospel.  I love you guys and hope you are well, sorry for the short letter but I am running low on time.  Have a solid week everybody.

Chilean sign language

Well friends and fam this week was a good one, lots of work, lots of being tired and doing lame excersizes, but hey we are still working !!!  This week we had a lot of miracles, expecially a couple of things that happened in the weekend.  This weekend we had a open house in our chapel, so we went to a big market right down the street and started giving out invitations.  We gave out probably around 400 invites and got rejected probably 300 times by people in the market.  It was almost funny how terribly we were rejected, people would just continue walking and I would just keep on talking and they would continue ignoring me for a good five seconds until I would give up, BUT we did meet some good people, and we had faith that some good would come out of the open house.  So we are in the open house and to our surprise (and great joy) a woman that we contacted there came !!  As we greeted her we realized that she is DEAF and DUMB, and we were awed by the fact that she showed up, because she definitely didn't understand anything that I said to her in the market !!  Then she also came to church on sunday, and she loved it.  Such a great old lady.  It was a great moment for our ward to unite and embrace her needs, read the banners of the open house with her slowly and there is a sister from our ward who speaks a little bit of Chilean sign language, so oh man was that crazy.  We also got a great reference from a member this week, a guy named Matias who is really interested in the church and also came on sunday to church. We are seeing lots of blessings in our sector and I love the Lord and His work, God will always bless us if we keep moving strong with our faith in him.  Keep moving forward everybody !!  I never really thought of "endure to the end" in this way until I have 8 weeks left in my mission, but as D y C 4 says, if our eye is single to the Lord's glory and his work, we are qualified to work and given the energy-tools-help that we need to keep moving.  I love you guys !!

ta piteao el cabro

Well folks this week was another just swell one.  We did an interchange this week with the Zone Leaders and I got to be back with my good old boy Elder Sonnenberg for the last time before he goes back home in three weeks.  Kinda funky that he goes home before I do huh.  Well anyways our interchange was really good.  I realized that a lot of the customs and ways to do things that he has are all the same ones I have (probably because i trained the guy), and it made me feel glad to have had a really positive impact.  He loves the people here, and the missionaries in our zone, and that makes him great.  Apart from that we also had zone conference and I got to see some of my mission buddies that are still around (there really just aren't that many anymore unfortunately) but it was still a way good conference.  We were mostly looking for new people to teach this week and trying to weed through the people that we have found, but we have found around 70 people to teach in these last two weeks and honestly a lot of them are really special people, and they all need the gospel so Elder Claro and I are doing everything that we can to help them receive it.  Yesterday we had a lot of miracles, we went out to try and track down a couple of people that we couldn't find, but we found some really great people along the way.  I love the feeling of taking down the notch from proclaming without rest our message and really listening to people's thoughts and needs and helping them see how the gospel applies to THEM, as it applies to all of us in a special way.  We had a certain moment yesterday when we went to see a family that we had family home evening planned with, we passed two hours earlier to confirm with them.  They had completely forgotten, and the mother walked out and told us not to come back, that they were catholic and that they didn't want us to waste our time.  Then as we started to talk to her and listen to her, we came right back and helped her see how her family really needs the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ in it's entirety, not just their passive catholic beliefs.  She would say, "I'm not a die hard catholic either, I just believe in Christ."  Some people just don't realize how CLOSE they are to the truth until we (the missionaries) have to make it blatantly obvious haha.  So then we went and saw some colombian people that were a reference from another Elder in the zone next to ours, and the mother of the family had just fallen sick.  When we told her that we could do priesthood blessings of health, she was sure she needed one and willing to receive it.  Then we went out and saw man lying in the street, and went and bought him a completo to eat.  Man if I were a homeless guy sleeping in the street i think i would like a good completo from a stranger every now and then, and he didn't really pay any attention to us until we came back with the completo (hot dog ish thing), and he was really greatful.   Then we went back to the Family Home Evening that we had planned and really had a great time.  I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I love this life.  I'm glad for our fathers plan and the opportunity that we have to share it with the world.  Have a great week everybody and give your moms a kiss on mothers day (but don't give my mom one)
