Cielo Azul

Well everybody to my surprise (and to everybody else in our mission's) we did NOT have changes, and Elder Claro and I will be together for the next six weeks.  We are excited to continue together, we are going to have a lot of sucsess in these next couple weeks.  This week we were able to work a lot with a man named Gerardo. We talked to him sitting outside of his house a couple of weeks ago, and told us that he was into some really deep stuff (problems) and that he was afraid that he was little by little losing his family.  We talked with him for a while about the gospel and gave him a book of mormon. I remember how sad he looked and how lost he seemed, something all of us can relate to, a moment or two in our lives when we have been very desperate and in need of help.  Unfortunately we weren't able to see him again for about a week and a half after we met him, but we went back last saturday and he was COMPLETELY changed.  He invited us in, smiled laughed and joked with us, and was very gratefull for that conversation that we had, that he was able to see hope and light at the end of the tunnel.  Since then he has come to church for the last two weeks straight and to the english class that we do in the church, and he is doing very well.  He and his girlfriend are very sure that they want to be baptised as soon as possible. We are going to help them get married and baptized a s a p.  Also we were really trying realy hard with the colombian family that we are teaching this week, and we were sad to see that they didn't show up to sacrament meeting when we were SO SURE that they would come.  Then to our surprise as we started to teach Gospel Principles the mom, Clara, and her son, David, both showed up !!!  Elder Claro and I danced in the hallway soon after (sometimes you just gotta do it.) I will admit that here in the mission have been the only times when I have ever felt the need to dance of happiness.  We are also working with a great kid named Matias, and he has become one of our best friends here in our sector, he also accepted a baptismal date this week and is progressing to be able to meet it.  Everything is good in Zion, I hope that you all are doing very well, write me an email if you've got a minute.
Elder McCurdy
